Drift World Mag recently sat down with rookie sensation and Formula Drift Pro 2 driver, Ryan Rasberry, to ask about being a stunt driver for movies, his rookie season in FD, and more!

DW - How did you get into this sport, and how long have you been drifting?

RR - I got into the sport pretty much like everyone else, I started out street drifting and worked my way to the track. I have been drifting for 3 years now.

DW - This was your rookie year as a Pro 2 driver in Formula Drift. Tell the fans how you made it to FD?

RR - I made it into Formula Drift, by working my way UP through the Golden Gate Drift pro am series and placing in the top 3 over all in the series to get my license.

DW - How was this first season?

RR - This first season of FD was a huge learning curve for me, and I had a blast on the travels too! Both on the track and on the way home, I met lots of cool people and did new things, it was a blast!

DW - What was your most memorable moment from this year of drifting?

RR - My most memorable moment, was showing up at the Texas Motor Speedway and just then realizing that I was actually at a professional level Formula Drift event! I had never even been to watch an FD event before, so showing up at my first one and the realization that I was driving in it, was an awesome feeling!

DW - Tell the fans a little about your current car?

RR - The current build for the 2016 season was a fully built Ls1 V8 stroked with all the goodies, wrapped up nice and neat inside a Nissan 240SX S14 chasis!

DW - How did you like being on tour with FD? Any funny or crazy things happen on the tour?

RR - Being on tour with FD was a blast. The most fun part about the traveling, was our side trip to Roswell, New Mexico where I got to look at all the alien stuff!

DW - Have you developed any big rivalries during this rookie season in FD?

RR - No, I didn't make any new rivals during the FD season, but I made a lot of new friends!

DW - What is your favorite thing about drifting?

RR - My favorite thing about drifting, is the feeling of being sideways at high speed. It is one thing to drive fast in a straight line, but being sideways going fast is something else all together.

DW - What chasis was your first drift car?

RR - The first car I ever tried drifting in, was my 1994 Mustang Cobra.

DW - Whats your favorite chasis for a drift car?

RR - My favorite chassis for a drift car is the Nissan 240! I love 240s, and they will always hold a special place in my heart.

DW - What are your plans for the 2017 season?

RR - 2017 will be a big season for us, and I am very excited, but I don't want to give away any spoilers just yet!

DW - What do you like to do, when you are NOT drifting? Hobbies, etc...?

RR - The things I do outside of drifting? I workout 6 times a week, twice a day. I also love to lift, and I model as well, but I also play a lot of Xbox!

DW - What is your daily driver?

RR - My daily driver is a 2007 Ford F-150, it keeps me out of trouble.

DW - What is your favorite car ever, and why?

RR - My favorite car ever is the R34 GTR Skyline. I fell in love with that car during the 'Fast and the Furious' movies, and have been obsessed with them ever since.

DW - We heard that you just finished stunt driving school. Are you looking into doing 'driving stunts' for movies?

RR - I am looking into doing some stunt driving for movies, and I am taking acting classes as well. So hopefully, I will make it into a few movies soon!

DW - What does the future hold for Ryan Rasberry?

RR - I wish I knew! I guess we will all just have to wait and see!
